January 27th - 2-Umpire Clinic

Florida District 17 will be conducting a 2-Umpire Mechanics Clinic.

When: January 27th - 8:00am - 5:00pm

Who should attend: All umpires or those interested in learning to umpire using the Little League system. Coaches, managers and junior umpires will all benefit from this clinic.

Coffee, juice and donuts will be provided in the morning.
Lunch will be provided as well as water throughout the day.

We will be offering cage work at this clinic. Please bring all of your umpire gear. If you are new to umpiring, loaner gear will be provided.

Rotations for 2-umpire system on the 60 foot diamond

Lunch 11:00am - 12:00pm

Field Session 1:00pm - 5:00pm All students will rotate through each of the following 3 stations:

Cage work including: Mask adjustment and removal, getting in the slot, developing a good lock, proper head height, proper tracking of the ball, developing proper timing, making the call (ball, swinging strike, looking strike, foul-tip, did he/she go, yes he/she did, uncaught 3rd strike)

Plate work including clearing the catcher, fair, foul, catch, no catch, trailing the batter, clearing the infield, 3rd base responsibilities, diamond-in-diamond, pop-ups around home plate, passed balls, overthrows.

Base work including proper starting point, trouble balls, fair, foul, working for the best angle, pivoting into the infield, getting to the working area, double play mechanics.
