District 17 DA Dewey Hudman passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends.

Dewey was a kind and gentle soul who was devoted to youth sports of Port St. Lucie up until his passing. He was involved in Little League District 17 for five decades. Of those five decades, the last three decades he was the district administrator of LLD 17 of Florida.

Dewey was also part of the PSLAA for 40 years and one of the founding members for the PSLAA Sportsman’s Park West.

Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader, they set out to make a difference. It is never about the role, always about the goal. Dewey knew the kids were our worlds future and we believe this was his goal. He kept that goal for over 50 years.

Dewey touched the lives of almost everyone he encountered and will be missed by many.

The Celebration of Life will be held at Sportsman’s Park on November 18, 2023, at 12:00pm. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Little League District 17.
